La Scène Thélème: two venues in one for the best of both worlds!

09/01/2017

IT IS RARE TO SEE TWO ARTISTIC WORLDS COME TOGETHER, ESPECIALLY WHEN EACH OF THEM HAS THEIR OWN SPECIFIC CODES AND NORMS. BUT WE LOVE SHAKING UP ESTABLISHED CODES WHILE MAINTAINING RESPECT FOR ARTISTRY AND CRAFTSMANSHIP.

Banquets have been staged as a performance before, especially by Shakespeare, but a stage in the middle of a restaurant is a new approach! Nevertheless, this new and unusual venue in the former premises of the 3 Michelin-Star chef, Guy Savoy, on Rue Troyon, Paris intends to take us to new heights, feeding the mind and tantalising the taste buds!

La Scène ThélèmeScène Thélème creates a new genre, with daily variations involving theatre and fine food. For a pleasurable experience, and out of respect for the art of both food and stage, the two “shows” are separated independently from the main room by an ingenious system of mobile soundproof partitions. The dual event is orchestrated harmoniously on a single evening, and never shares the same time and space, through the use of a temporary stage.

The refined menu is the work of Michelin-starred Chef Pierre Rigothier (previously of Le Baudelaire and Le Burgundy). He is obsessed with the quality of ingredients, and passionate about finding ways to bring the best out of outstanding raw materials. In his own words: “For me, cooking is about dreams and simplicity! That’s why the ingredients are essential, because everything starts with them and comes back to them:
seasons, journeys, encounters and more…”

The wine list has been lovingly put together by sommelier Daniel Pires.

The idea for this new culinary and artistic setting comes from Jean-Marie Gurné, a former Nestlé executive, and a man of passion and ideas. Seeing that there was nowhere in Paris that brought together outstanding culinary and cultural experiences under the same roof, Jean-Marie decided to create a unique venue to combine the two, with a focus on creating the freedom for artists to create and innovate.
